Jesus Revealed this powerful prayer to St. Faustina as one of the best means to assist the dying. Jesus said: “My daughter, encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given to you. It pleases Me to grant everything they ask of Me by saying the chaplet...Write that when they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the merciful Savior” (Diary 1541) Earlier our Lord said to her: “At the hour of their death, I defend as My own glory every soul that will say this chaplet; or when others say it for the dying person, the indulgence is the same.” (Diary, 811)
Jesus said: “When this chaplet is said by the bedside of the dying person, divine wrath is placated, unfathomable mercy envelopes the soul, and the very depths of My tender mercy are moved for the sake of the sorrowful Passion of My Son (Diary, 811)”.
St. Faustina makes it clear in her diary that one does not need have to be at the bedside physically when praying the chaplet for the sick or dying person (Diary 835).
Please find Divine Mercy packets by the Divine Mercy portrait in church or by the Petition Book in the Vestibule. Please take these packets to someone you know who is sick or dying or pray for someone you cannot be with at the time. Pray this prayer with that person and leave the packet with them. It includes a finger rosary, directions for praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet and a prayer card.
The Divine Mercy Chaplet meets Tuesday Mornings after the 7am Mass in the cry room. A prayer group meets to pray and offer petitions. All are welcome to attend.
